"Untitled," Telegraph and Texas Register, July 19, 1843

Summary: Printed a notice by a court in Houston of a suit brought against an administrator of a will. Alexander Gow sued Phineas Kimball, who administered the late Harriet Kimball's will, for debts of over $1500 and some of her slaves too. The court ordered Phineas to appear at the October term or penalties would be placed against him.


ALEXANDER GOW, Republic of Texas--Harris County.

PHINEAS KIMBALL,

Administrator of Harriet District Court--Fall term, AD 1843.

Kimball's estate and al[sic]

WHEREAS, the said Alexander Gow having filed his certain petition in equity against the said Phineas Kimball, as administrator of the estate of Harrit[sic] N Kimball, deceased, to subject to the payment of a debt of $1610.68 due said Gow by the said George W Kimball, deceased, lot 5, in block 28 and improvements, and slaves Dolly, her children Doreas and Reuben, alleged to be liable for the payment of the same: and whereas it being represented that the said Phineas Kimball is beyond the limits of the Republic--This is therefore to notify the said Phineas Kimball that he be and appear at the October term next, of Harris District Court, and plead, answer and demur to said Alexander Gow's petition; in default of his so doing, so the same will be taken as confessed and decree made accordingly.
