"Fifty Dollars Reward," Telegraph and Texas Register, June 24, 1837
Summary: An ad offering a reward for two runaways. Gave the slaves' names, height, and the clothes they wore. Also said one of the runaways had a "wild look".
RAN away from my plantation on Oyster Creek, two negro men: one by the name of Gumby, about five feet ten inches high, and has a remarkably wild look. Tom is about six feet one or two inches high, black; and had on when they left, blue cotton clothes and red caps. I will give the above reward if delivered at my house on Oyster Creek, near Brazoria.
EDWIN WALLER.
