"For Sale," Telegraph and Texas Register, March 17, 1838

Summary: An ad for land near the Yegua river, apparently first surveyed by General Austin. Described as "well timbered and watered". Quoted the price, which could be paid in cash or slaves.


A CHOICE LEAGUE OF LAND, in Coles' settlement, known as league No. 4, south of the Yegua, the second league above the residence of Horace Chiesman, Esq., surveyor, who will give all requisite information and point out the land. This league was an early selection by the late Gen. Austin for a premium league, and was transferred to the subscriber on his arrival in the colony as the most eligible situation under his control for the permanent residence of his family, it being well timbered and watered, and in the most beautiful and healthy part of the country; and in one of the most respectable settlements.

PRICE--One dollar and a half per acre, cash, or Negroes at cash prices. Apply to the subscriber at Bolivar. HENRY AUSTIN.
