Charles Elliot to Anson Jones, November 15, 1843

Summary: Elliot forwarded to Jones copies of the treaty between England and Texas to suppress the slave trade.

GALVESTON Nov. 15th. 1843.

The Undersigned, Her Britannic Majesty's Charge' d' Affaires to the Republic of Texas has the honor to forward to Mr. Jones two copies of an Act passed during the last session of Parliament, intituled

"An Act for carrying into effect the treaty between Her Majesty "and the Republic of Texas for the suppression of the African Slave "Trade."

11th. April 1843.

And He avails himself of this occasion to renew to Mr Jones the expressions of the esteem and distinguished consideration with which He has the honor to remain
