Isaac Best to the Department of Bexa, December 24, 1832

Summary: Isaac Best agreed to sell his mulatto slave, in front of witnesses, to William Hunter and his heirs for $600. He waived any future rights to the slave and called him a "slave for life".

Jurisdiction of Austin

For and in consideration of Six hundred dollars. to me in hand paid by William W Hunter the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged I. Isaac Best have this day bargained and sold transfered and delivered and by these presents do bargain and sell transfer and deliver unto the said Hunter his heirs and assigns all my right title interest and demand in and to a certain Mulatto Man a slave for life named Turner aged Twenty one years to have and to hold to him said Hunter his heirs and assigns. Forever hereby binding myself my heirs Executors & administrators, to warrant and forever defend the title to said Hunter his he[i]rs and assgns[sic] against all Claims. Whatsoever.
