"100 Dollars Reward," Telegraph and Texas Register, April 8, 1840
Summary: An ad offering a reward for a runaway. Gave the slave's name, age, and height and also noted that he was very polite. Would pay the reward in Texas notes.
Ranaway, or was stolen, from the subscriber a few weeks since, at Austin, a negro man, named Planner. Said negro is about 35 or forty years of age, and five feet six inches high. No particular mark or trait recollected, except that he is extremely polite, addressing one as either young or old master. The above reward in the promissory notes of the government will be given to any one delivering said negro man to Messrs. Dobre and Davis, Houston, or for any information that will lead to his recovery.
