Summary: Joel Spencer asked readers to look for a Memorandum book he recently lost. He especially wanted the return of a bond for five slaves, worth six hundred dollars.
LOST on the 7th inst., a small, neatly bound Memorandum Book, with my name frequently wrote on it, and also was enclosed in it a bond of Captain Henry Austin for the time and payment of the same, of five negroes, which will be due on the 1st of December next, and amounting to six hundred dollars in good money. Any person finding the same will please leave it at the office of the Civilian and confer a favor. JOEL SPENCER.
